  I knew what Barry looked like in my head, but how was I to show that vision to a real artist? So I drew up an initial mock-up … and provided a basic description:

Barry is based on the Kenny Powers character in “East Bound and Down.” 6-4, curly mullet not quite shoulder-length, modest beer gut, goatee.

Barry has the same body type also .. more beer-gut than fat … sort of barrel-chested like the actor Brian Dennehy.

The character is actually very strong, with muscles, but not very defined … he’ll be thick and solid, with a little gut, just enough to make him look a little out of shape, and somehow a little handsome, a devious look in his eye.

The handsome part was up for debate.
